Fees, Sliding Scale and Insurance Coverage
We follow the Psychological Association of Alberta (PAA) recommended rates:
One-Hour session: $220
If you prefer, longer sessions are available. Reduced fees are available for those with limited or no
insurance coverage.
Sliding scale is available on request.
Insurance and Direct Billing
Insurance coverage
Many extended medical plans cover counselling. The amount of coverage and the which type of professional is covered varies significantly from plan to plan. If you plan to use your insurance to cover (or help cover) the cost of counselling. Be sure to ask your insurance provider for details about your plan prior to your first session.
Direct Billing
Our Registered Psychologists offer direct billing through the following insurance companies:
- Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEP)
- Blue Cross
- Canada Life
- Desjardins
- Equitable Life
- Great West Life
- Green Shield
- Group Health
- Group Source
- IA Financial Group
- SAITSA (SAIT Student Benefits)
- The Co-operators
- Medavie Blue Cross
Sunlife and Manulife do not presently allow for direct billing by psychologists. If you are covered by these companies or another not listed, you will be provided with a detailed receipt to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company.
Registered Provisional Psychologists are unable to direct bill some insurance companies. Please check with our office for more information.
External Funders
In some cases, psychological/counselling services may be covered by an external funder. If you have been offered or approved for external funding, we are willing to work with you and the funder to directly bill the funder. External funders may include:
