Our Calgary Psychologists and Therapists You Can Trust
Creating an environment that is honest, safe, and empathetic is of utmost importance to me. A space like that provides the basis for a trusting therapeutic relationship. Keeping this in mind, my approach is that of a collaborative experience, which centres your story outside of stigma and judgement.
My goal as a therapist is to walk with you in times of chaos, and provide support in a way that builds you up to face life’s challenges. As a therapist, I strive to build the most supportive, compassionate, and judgement-free environment possible. I like to work together during our sessions and incorporate any feedback, in order to build a strong foundation of trust between us. Therefore, the therapeutic direction we take is dependent on what encourages the healing process.
I also recognize that culture, and/or faith may have an important role in your life. As such, I welcome you to bring it in our sessions, as you see fit.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and my cat, Mani (he is a nine year old ragdoll). I love reading (mostly fiction with the occasional non-fiction psychology book). I also love hiking and taking pictures of the mountains and trees (although I’m not a professional photographer by any means). Chocolate anything is my favourite kind of dessert! My favourite movie/tv show genre is horror and sci-fi and my ultimate favourite movie is Interstellar! I have a special place in my heart for astronomy! All things science really fascinate me!

Hello, my name is Jess. I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist. I am committed to providing a compassionate, empathetic space for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours while helping them navigate life’s challenges. I take a strength-based, holistic approach to therapy, as I recognize the delicate interplay of emotional, psychological, and social factors in each individual’s journey. I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each client, and I am dedicated to providing a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to gain insights, develop coping strategies, and to foster meaningful change.
After 12 years as a teacher, I decided to switch careers because I wanted to do more than what the educational system could support. After spending some time working in the field of addictions and mental health, I decided to pursue training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). In my opinion, DBT is a life-changing treatment modality that can be taught and used by individuals of all ages. It was through this training experience that I discovered how much I enjoyed working with eating disorders, borderline personality disorder, trauma, and other comorbid conditions.
Outside work, I enjoy camping in the back of my vehicle, coaching gymnastics, watching movies, and practicing yoga. I also have a Bengal cat named Mynka, who is entertaining to watch! She is very chatty, loves water, and attacks anything that moves – including me!
